Introduction
The Oregon Health Consensus is a community, a process, and a document.
We are a community of Oregonians committed to improving health for all Oregonians. We aim to include as many Oregonians from as many diverse groups as possible.
We are committed to improving health through a unique consensus-based process that includes several steps (described below).
Using the consensus process, we are creating a document called "The Oregon Health Consensus" that describes what we -- all Oregonians -- want for our health.
The Process
The Oregon Health Consensus is developing via the following stages:
- Stage 1 - 100% of 8+ Oregonians agree on Vision. This stage is complete.
- Stage 2 - 90% of 40+ Oregonians agree on Vision and Representation. This stage is in progress. Join us!
- Stage 3 - 90% of 200+ Oregonians agree on Vision, Representation, and Values
- Stage 4 - 90% of 1,000+ Oregonians agree on Vision, Representation, Values, Background Information
- Stage 5 - 90% of 5,000+ Oregonians agree on Vision, Representation, Values, Background Information, Potential Next Steps (including Legislation, Policy, Programs, etc.)
- Stage 6 - 90% of 25,000+ Oregonians agree on Vision, Representation, Values, Background Information, Potential Next Steps, and Actual Next Steps (including Legislation, Policy, Programs, etc.)
PLEASE NOTE: Work will begin immediately on sections that will not come up for agreement until later stages.
News
- Join us at local Health-related events such as the Oregon Health Fund Board meetings
- September 3, 2008 ... Over 40 Oregonians attended our Wiki Wednesday gala event (see more photos here). Stage 2 began and will succeed once we get to 90% YES of 40+ participants. Participate at Oregon Health Consensus v0.2.
- August 18, 2008 ... Stage 1 succeeded with 100% YES of 10 participants. You can view the completed document at Oregon Health Consensus v0.1.
